Nel mese di maggio 2024, ho avuto la preziosa occasione di prendere parte allo scambio interculturale “Alternative way of digitalisation for tackling social media” che si è svolto tra il 19 e il 27 Maggio 2024 nella località di Koycegiz, in Turchia. I paesi impegnati nel progetto erano Macedonia, Turchia, Lituania, Bulgaria, Germania e l’Italia. Questo progetto, svolto in una località molto tranquilla della costa turca, ha permesso ai ragazzi partecipanti di affrontare la tematica sempre più impellente dell’abuso dei dispositivi elettronici, in particolare ricollegato all’uso spasmodico e decisamente abitudinario delle piattaforme social. Ogni giorno è stato incentrato su delle riflessioni sul tema ma soprattutto su delle attività che permettessero ai partecipanti di venire più a contatto con la realtà circostante, facilitando un detox dal telefono. Oltre alla condivisione di esperienze e attività ludiche all’aperto, è stato utile , ai fini di una maggiore apertura al dialogo e alla sensibilizzazione, la presentazione della situazione concernente la tematica del progetto stesso all’interno del nostro Paese e nelle nostre realtà locali. I facilitators dello scambio, Mutlu e Suleyman, si sono resi molto disponibili nei nostri confronti, sia dal punto di vista logistico, aiutandoci a orientarci e occupandosi degli spostamenti in auto e bus ma anche molto aperti al confronto e al voler affrontare con noi i motivi che li avevano ispirati a presentare questa determinata tematica.

L’accomodation d’altro canto è stata molto confortevole e il cibo molto buono e adatto alle esigenze alimentari di tutti noi. Mi ritengo molto grata di aver avuto l’opportunità di essere parte di questo scambio in quanto, nonostante la realtà dei progetti mi sia ormai molto familiare, in questa specifica settimana ho avuto l’opportunità di sentirmi molto più a mio agio con me stessa e sensibile all’ascolto di me stessa e degli altri. I miei compagni del team italiano, guidati da Ciro, sono stati di grande supporto e abbiamo costituito un bellissimo team e amicizia che non si è limitata alle energie impiegate nel progetto svolto. Ringrazio molto la mia sending organization Romagna Plus, per questa occasione veramente speciale per me. E’ stato bello aprire ancora di più gli occhi sul mondo e su delle tematiche molto attuali e molto presenti soprattutto tra i giovani, come l’utilizzo tossico dei nostri dispositivi. Durante quella settimana infatti mi è risultato molto naturale non guardare i miei social e nel mio piccolo, credo di essermi portata a casa un’esperienza formativa rilevante per la mia crescita e aver avuto modo di condividere l’importanza di quanto appreso lì.

In May 2024, I had the valuable opportunity to take part in the cross-cultural exchange “Alternative way of digitalisation for tackling social media” which took place between May 19 and 27, 2024 in Koycegiz, Turkey. The countries involved in the project were Macedonia, Turkey, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Germany and Italy. This project, held in a very quiet location on the Turkish coast, allowed the participating youth to address the increasingly pressing issue of electronic device abuse, particularly linked to the spasmodic and decidedly habitual use of social platforms. Each day focused on reflections on the topic but mostly on activities that would allow participants to come more in touch with their surroundings, facilitating a detox from their phones. In addition to sharing experiences and outdoor play activities, it was useful , for the purpose of greater openness to dialogue and awareness, to present the situation concerning the topic of the project itself within our country and in our local realities. The facilitators of the exchange, Mutlu and Suleyman, were very helpful to us, both from the logistical point of view, helping us to orient ourselves and taking care of the car and bus transportation, but also very open to discussing and wanting to address with us the reasons that had inspired them to present this particular issue.

The accomodation on the other hand was very comfortable and the food very good and suited to the dietary needs of all of us. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of this exchange as, although the reality of the projects is now very familiar to me, in this specific week I had the opportunity to feel much more comfortable with myself and sensitive to listening to myself and others. My fellow members of the Italian team, led by Ciro, were very supportive and we formed a beautiful team and friendship that was not limited to the energy expended in the project carried out. I am very grateful to my sending organization Romagna Plus, for this truly special occasion for me. It was nice to open my eyes even more to the world and to some very current and very present issues especially among young people, such as the toxic use of our devices. During that week, in fact, it was very natural for me not to look at my socials, and in my own small way, I think I took home a learning experience relevant to my growth and being able to share the importance of what I learned there.
