In Bran, Romania, in 2022 an international youth exchange was organized by some of our closest partners: the group of European Youth for exchange GEYC. As the name suggests the aims of the project were to encourage participants to create a more sustainable lifestyle and to discover methods to be active in our society.

The first day was dedicated to the general presentation of the participants, so as to soften the tension and create an environment free of any kind of pressure. The following days we start to understand and discuss the real motivations of this project.

Coming from different countries, everyone had the opportunity to express themselves about the attitude that every government is adopting in safeguarding the environment etc…

This comparison raised other issues of great importance about this theme, which have given way to the participants to express their thoughts on the subject. We also discussed very important and current issues for our Planet, such as circular economy, human rights, renewable energies and pollution.

During the week,every country produced a poster analyzing the way how each government is trying to tackle these increasingly central concerns in the world panorama.

The group was committed to doing something practical, therefore the hosting organization planned a couple of ‘educational’ tours intended for the collection of waste in the area of Bran.

In the last day we choose to visit the beautiful city of Brasov, to observe and enjoy the beauty of Romanian culture, without forgetting the reason and the mission of our trip; That’s why during the day we interviewed passers-by to understand what they thought of their country and especially their thinking about the way global warming was being fought.

The week has passed very quickly, also thanks to the amount of activities carried out. Personally, I left Romania with a knowledge about the subject I did not have before, not to mention that I changed my mind about many issues for me before indisputable.
